2007 Fourth Annual Theatre Event

WOW, that WAS quite a Ride!!

We'd like to say a HUGE thank you to DiAnn Sneed and her entire crew at San Pedro Playhouse, and all our volunteers, photographers, etc.  The Playwrights had overnight to write the script.  The actors and directors had all day to learn lines and blocking.  The Tech Crew had one hour with each group to learn sound and light cues.  And everyone was incredible.  Thank you!!

Feedback:

Congratulations on another outstanding production of Theatre ASAP! Looking forward to year 5!
  Congratulations on TheatreASAP!!

I attended ASAP this past Saturday, it was my first.  I enjoyed the event very much.  The actors, directors and the playwrights of this event should be thoroughly praised for their creative efforts of creating very memorable performances in a 10 minute production.  The definite highlights of the evening were "The Birthday Surprise" and "Packing Memories", very original and attentive keeping interest of the audience by not knowing what to expect next. The witches by far surpassed the audience expectations as far as taking an already hilarious plot/script by doing their job of creating these amusing characters with perfect comedic timing, reading and character choices.  Bravo to them and bravo to all!

I really enjoyed it - I'm continually blown away by the level of talent in this city, and so much of it was on display here.

The idea of awards is a sound one, but given the nature of the process of writing and producing these plays, it's probably something that would have to be done at a later date (as it was with the 48 Hour Film Project). I don't know whether you'd have strictly audience awards, or whether you'd have judges, or some combination of both. But I like the idea of just recognizing all the hard work that made last night such a success.

Again, thanks to everybody who took part!

I enjoyed the show. I would have liked to see it as a contest... best script, best actor/actress.   I though it was a success, hands down. Cheers!

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of a truly awesome night of great theatre. TheatreASAP rocks!
Theatre ASAP kicked ass this year! It was a GREAT group of people to work with. I take my hat off to all the other actors and technicians who helped make it a success!!! Being a part of it was an honor.

It was a night full of {beep}, meth addicts, Tibetan birthing chairs, Autism, red lace submissive slaves, creepy giggling clown heads and relationship issues....whew...that makes for one hell of an evening!!!!

Thank you SATCO!!!

Thanks for a great day and night of TheatreASAP. It was fun! There was a great audience! I met new people, got to do an outlandish part and bowed down to a clown. What more could you ask for? Anna Gangai
Amazingly astounding, ampitiously [sic] accurate, every playwright nailed it - in 24 hours??  Unbelievable

Impressive professionalism given the constraints of the form.
Talent, comedy, twists and turns with plots .... great fun.

AUDITIONS

Saturday, August 18, 2007

We are once again seeking experienced ACTORS to participate in our annual 24-hour play fest. Yes, that's right TheatreASAP is back and better than ever -- it has more action than a high school football game, more drama than a prime-time medical show, and is more exhilarating than a carnival ride. TheatreASAP is the ultimate actor’s medium and a true testament of an actor's passion for the craft. So, don't miss out on this awesome opportunity!

Call for an audition slot (see below). Actors must arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled audition time. They will receive a monologue to be memorized in 30 minutes. Actors must also prepare a contemporary, two minute monologue in advance. The two monologues will be presented for the committee at your assigned time. Actors will need to be available September 8 all day … rehearse during the day and perform that evening (rehearsals begin at 8am). Headshots and resumes are not required, but we will gladly accept them.

Actors of all types encouraged to participate, but must be over 18 years of age.
Auditions to be held: San Pedro Playhouse
Performances: September 8, 2007
